A New Year 2024 – Channel Updates

Happy New Year From RestlessBloom !

We are so thankful to the our subscribers for helping us become a YouTube Partner!! Thank you

2024 is here and so is the time for our seasonal blog update. This post is our official update to viewers on what content to expect next on our gaming channel and we have some exciting announcements for our viewers. We’ll also take a look back at some highlights of the year at the end of the post.

New Ultrawide Content

Our Skyrim series will include mods and much more aggressive editing than our typical gameplays to bring a video series that won’t be seen anywhere else!

Our channel has been sharing videos in all formats to our viewers, and a new horizon is ready to be explored. Ultrawide videos are displayed in a 21:9 ratio that is used in Cinema. For viewers with the Ultrawide monitors, this will mean we will have content that will fill your wide screen! The wider field of view should be a fun experience for any device, that will bring a new feel for gaming experiences to all our viewers. We will still continue to share videos in 16:9 and the vertical 9:16 shorts as well to have something for everybody.

There are a couple of Ultrawide videos released already for Sims fans. And this year we will be sharing a special edited series on Skyrim utilizing the wider display! Don’t expect anything this season, but we’re also excited to revisit Cyberpunk’s Night City for some fun Ultrawide shots in the future.

If you are watching on a standard device, Ultrawide videos will appear slimmer in design, but still present a wider field of view in the images

What to expect in 2024?

I think we can all agree 2023 was an absolute wild ride for gaming! In fact it was so overwhelming, we couldn’t even play games fast enough, never mind edit them.

We did promise Cities Skylines fans we’d be sharing content on its recent sequel, and that is still a plan! Paradox will be seeing a double feature this year as they have caught our attention with both Cities Skylines 2 and their upcoming life simulator, Life By You where will be sharing some footage from their early access.

These games mentioned will all be shared as videos that will have been recorded and edited before making it to YouTube.

On live stream, we will back this year to share the original Life is Strange and Tell Me Why, both by the French Studio Dontnod.

We do have some more plans for games we’d like to share, but we’ll keep some secrets with us for the next seasonal update 😀

Fans of our other series can also expect some new content too, so don’t worry!

Sims is the type of game we will always go back to, and we even have some projects in editing at the moment.

Changing how we Share

In the last year, we have made quite the audience on the shorts feed, where we’ve learned a lot in the process of editing and experimenting with new video ideas that we plan to expand into longer formats.

Our last blog post did already touch on this update, our goal going forward to change how we catalogue our library for viewers.

To keep it simple, Lives and Shorts are going to continue as they have been, and videos will be seeing some new updates, such as the Ultra-wide formatting, and new projects that we’ll be recording off screen and bringing to YouTube with more editing than is possible from trimming a live stream.

YouTube’s editor now allows us to perform hundreds of trims to a video after sharing a live stream! So this will allow us to continue the gameplay videos we’ve currently shared on the channel in the Live Stream section and allow for an even higher quality of content to now fill the video section.

2024 will be a transitionary year for our content where we will be finishing out series like Mass Effect and Hogwarts Legacy on their weekly release schedules while integrating this new style of content.

Community

For some fun we asked our community to see how you game. You can find future polls either on your own homepage or by checking on the community tab on our channel page

Understanding the Release Schedule

We have been sharing our videos on a weekly release schedule for most series. This will continue with any series we have already started in 2023 or earlier. We’d also like more freedom in our schedule to show new projects that will be filling days we have ended weekly releases for. Just a reminder, any game we feature on our channel always has a chance to see more content in the future too

Our current release schedule will continue as we finish what is on schedule

Sunday : Mass Effect Trilogy
Monday : *Weekly Schedule closed, still possible to see new videos
Tuesday : Life is Strange Series
Wednesday : Hogwarts Legacy
Thursday *Indie Day *On break, we’ll highlight more indie games throughout the year
Friday : Starfield
Saturday : Off
*We may still feature uploads on these days from any series

We mentioned a few new titles we’ll be sharing with fans in the section above and in addition to this and the schedule you can expect to still see videos from the Sims series, Riders Republic, Session, and Grand Theft Auto

New Games to the channel

We’re very excited to dive back into Skyrim again featured at the top of this post. The latest release by Bethesda is something we have also started to share on the channel. Starfield we have been streaming on Twitch where we’re able to edit our videos before they’re shared to YouTube! We already have a good headway into the playlist and some shorts videos for fans of the game.

Our very first experience in Starfield, edited and shared with you

Starfield videos have been releasing every Friday and we even are still playing our first play through now, so there will be videos still being made after this post.

Sims 3

Our channel first started sharing content from The Urbz Sims in the City which has found a very friendly community of you who also loved the early 2000s spin off. Slowly over time we are trying to share more from the series on the channel. And the transition from last year has us going back in time again to the Sims 3. We aren’t ready to share our video series yet, but we’ll also be visiting the Sims Medieval for what is our first experience!

Our Sims 3 playlist will be presented in Ultrawide and recreate our Sims shared in Sims 4

In 2023 we created lots of new content for Sims fans in our Sims Shorts Series for fans of Sims 4 and more Urbz Sims in the City content

Baldur’s Gate 3

Voted Game of the year and undoubtedly a fun new experience for gamers, we explored the fantasy RPG last year in what’s now a completed playlist of our first experience. Although we shared them in live streams we have gone through all the footage with hundreds of edits per video to share the best video we can. We learned the hard way with this series, that YouTube videos over 6 hours are too long for editing XD So there are two videos in this playlist where you will see the raw videos to see the difference our edits make

A now complete playlist of our first experience in Baldur’s Gate 3

We share this experience playing a co-op adventure. For the viewer we have sped up all of our decision making, failed paths, and any loading that may disrupt a viewing experience. It is possible we may share more videos of this game in the future as well as more shorts

Underground Music Mix ’23

We have began a tradition on our channel of sharing a unique playlist for each year that feature some of the music video mixes we’ve made.

Last year we shared Gaming Grooves 22 with 22 tracks from 2022.

This playlist tries to only share a few videos at most from each game we share on the channel to expose viewers to a little bit of everything we’ve worked on in 2023. And if you like a particular series, we will have more content for that game on the channel.

A shorts playlist of 23 music video edits we created in 2023

We’ll begin building a new 2024 playlist as we make new videos this year! And the latest playlist may add/remove and alter the order of the playlist until it is marked as complete at the end of the year

Thank You

By sharing our favorite gaming experiences it’s always fun to connect to new people who share the same interests. We don’t expect viewers to like everything we post to our channel, so we appreciate you for letting us share our favorite experiences in story telling whether or not you like the same ones. There’s a lot of negativity online these days, and creating a place to share love is our biggest goal with this channel.

Hogwarts Legacy and Cyberpunk saw a lot of controversy, yet we found most of our subscribers through these very games, so we know there’s others that feel the same and just want to have fun.

Thanks for being with us and all the best
